Mount Rainier Half Marathon
The Mount Rainier event at Crystal Mountain takes place July 17-18, 2026 and offers multiple race distances across mountain terrain. Courses use dirt trails and route runners through forested trails, ridge lines, and alpine meadows. Registration for each distance includes an all-day gondola pass.
Distances
- 13.1 miles - summit start, downhill and trail sections toward the base.
- 10K - downhill course from the summit, overlays portions of the half marathon.
- 5K Hill Climb - uphill climb from the base to the summit with a rolling start.
Race weekend includes an expo and bib pickup at Crystal Mountain Resort Lot B on Friday, and organized parking at resort lots B, C, D, and E. Camping and RV options are available on site with both primitive campsites and no-hookup RV spots; basic campsite and tent prices are listed on the event page.
The event follows a cup-free, zero waste approach: aid stations provide coolers for refills but no single-use cups, and participants are asked to use reusable bottles, collapsible cups, or hydration packs. Awards use chip time for overall and Masters categories; competitors aiming for overall awards should start in the lead wave. Place medals are given for top finishers and finisher medals are awarded to everyone who completes a race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
