Mount Rainier Half Marathon at Crystal Mountain
The Mount Rainier event weekend offers three race distances across mountain trails at Crystal Mountain on July 17-18, 2026. Courses run through alpine meadows, old-growth forest, ridge lines, and forested trails, with significant net elevation change on each distance. All race registrations include an all day gondola pass for access to summit areas.
Distances
- 13.1 miles: summit start, downhill trails through ridgelines and meadows
- 10K: downhill from the top of Crystal Mountain on dirt trails
- 5K Hill Climb: uphill climb to the summit on a steep trail
Event logistics include an expo and bib pickup at Crystal Mountain Resort Lot B the Friday before race day, with options for pickup on race morning or shipped bibs for an additional fee. Camping and RV options are offered at an official campground with reserved spots and varied pricing for tent and RV camping. Volunteer shifts are available with race credit rewards.
Race operations emphasize sustainability with a cup free policy; runners must bring a reusable bottle, cup, or hydration pack for aid stations. Overall and Masters awards use chip time; competitors must start in the first wave to be eligible for overall awards.
