Simply Women Ohio 5K
Simply Women Ohio 5K is an annual fundraiser held in Yellow Springs, Ohio, with the start and finish at Yellow Springs High School, 420 E. Enon Road. The event supports Simply Women Ohio, a charitable organization founded in 2009 by middle school students. The board includes community members and high school students who work with schools and local groups to increase girls' participation in sports and encourage healthy lifestyles.
Proceeds from the 5k run/walk fund equipment, team gear, uniforms, participation fees, and similar support for young women. Simply Women Ohio also awards an annual leadership scholarship to a high school senior who has demonstrated leadership on and off the field.
Key event details include:
- 5K course through tree lined streets of Yellow Springs, run as a loop starting and finishing at Yellow Springs High School
- One mid race water station
- Post race snacks, awards and prize drawings
Registration opens February 15 and closes May 13. Pre registration fee is $30 and includes a t shirt and a swag bag when completed by May 13. After May 13 the entry fee is $35 and a t shirt is not guaranteed.
Awards include medals for the top finisher in each age group and top two overall placings. Prize drawing winners must be present to receive prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
