Callander 10K
The Callander 10K is a road running event based at McLaren Leisure Centre in Callander. The main route runs toward Loch Venachar with views of surrounding mountains, returns along the old railway line and finishes beside the River Teith. The course surface is approximately 8.5 km on tarmac and 1.5 km on compacted trail; organisers recommend road shoes.
Two event distances are offered:
- 10K - £27
- 1K Fun Run - £7
The 10K is chip timed with integrated race numbers and timing chips posted to most participants about two weeks before the event; late registrants collect timing chips on the day. The 1K fun run is not chip timed. There are two staffed water stations at about 3 km and 8 km, stocked with water, Active Root sports drink and other items. Medical provision and route marshals are in place and the route is marked with large yellow signs.
Entry includes race organisation, a finishers' medal, post-race water, energy drink, fruit and shortbread, electronic timing for the 10K, and free event photos. Age limits are 15+ for the 10K and 5+ for the 1K (under 5s may run with adult supervision). Participant categories include male, female, non-binary and other with prize criteria dependent on minimum entry numbers. Dogs are not permitted. The event supports It’s Good 2 Give and Canmore Trust. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
