Callander 10K
The Callander 10K is a town-centre running event held in Callander with a short fun run option. The route runs towards Loch Venachar with views of the surrounding mountains, returns along the old railway line and finishes beside the River Teith.
Distances:
- 10 km - main race, entry fee £27
- 1 km - fun run, entry fee £7
The 10K is chip timed using Perfect Timing Scotland and 10K race numbers and timing chips are posted to participants around two weeks before the event; the 1K is not chip timed. The course is fully marked with large yellow signs, supported by marshals and medical staff. Route surfaces are approximately 8.5 km on tarmac and 1.5 km on compacted trail; road shoes are recommended. There are two water stations around 3 km and 8 km, stocked with water, sports drink and light treats.
Entry includes a medal, finish refreshments (water, energy drink, fruit and shortbread), electronic timing, medical provision, free event photos and race hydration from Active Root. Facilities at the event hub include toilets, changing rooms, baggage drop and first aid. Public parking is available in Callander town centre; there is no general parking at McLaren Leisure Centre.
Age limits: 10K participants must be 15 or older on the day; 1K is open to ages 5 and up with under 5s allowed with adult supervision. Prizes are available by gender categories and age groups subject to minimum entry numbers. Disabled participants are welcome and are asked to contact the organiser before registering. Dogs are not permitted on the course. The event supports the charities It’s Good 2 Give and Canmore Trust and offers options for donations.
