Callander 10K
The Callander 10K is an organised running event based at McLaren Leisure Centre in Callander with a shorter 1K fun run option. The main race follows a scenic out-and-back route toward Loch Venachar, includes sweeping mountain views, returns largely along an old railway line and finishes beside the River Teith.
Distances:
- 10K (chip timed), entry fee £28, age 15 and over
- 1K fun run, entry fee £7, age 5 and over (under 5s may run with an adult)
Course surfaces are approximately 8.5 km on tarmac and 1.5 km on compacted trail; road shoes are recommended. The route is fully marked with large yellow signs and staffed by marshals and medical personnel. There are two water stations at about 3 km and 8 km, and finish-line provisions include water, an energy drink, fruit, shortbread and a finisher medal. The 10K uses integrated electronic chip timing with results published after the event; the 1K is not chip timed.
Participant facilities listed include toilets, changing rooms, baggage drop and first aid. Public parking is available in Callander town centre with a short walk to the start; there is no general parking at the leisure centre except for disabled spaces. The event supports the charities It’s Good 2 Give and Canmore Trust. Dogs are not permitted to take part. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
