The Callander 10K is a community road running event based at McLaren Leisure Centre in Callander. The main route heads toward Loch Venachar, passing sweeping views of the surrounding mountains, and returns alongside the River Teith. The return includes a flat section along an old railway line and a final riverside run to the finish.
The 10K uses chip timing and posts full results after the event; the 1K fun run is not chip timed. The route surface is approximately 8.5 km on tarmac and 1.5 km on compacted trail, with two water stations located at about 3 km and 8 km. The organisers recommend road running shoes. Medical provision and marshals are positioned along the route, and the course is marked with large yellow signs.
Entry fees are listed as 10K £27 and 1K £7. All finishers receive a medal and finish-line refreshments including water, energy drink, fruit and shortbread. Facilities at the event hub include toilets, changing rooms, baggage drop and first aid. Parking is available in public car parks in Callander; there is no general parking at the leisure centre. The event supports the charities It’s Good 2 Give and Canmore Trust.
Age limits: 10K for participants aged 15 and over, 1K for ages 5 and over with younger children able to run with adult supervision.
