About the race
The Silver Sands Coastal Trail Race takes place in Aberdour on 4 October 2026. The course is an approximately 4 miles out and back along a section of the Fife Coastal Path between Silver Sands and Burntisland. The path is mainly good quality trail with some tarred sections, fairly flat with a few gentle undulations, and it passes through wooded areas with sea views. The event is described as welcoming to all abilities and novice friendly.
Race headquarters for number pick-up is the Beach Ranger's Office adjacent to the public toilet block at Silver Sands Beach, postcode KY3 0XB. There are no changing facilities at the venue. All finishers receive a race medal.
Parking is free for entrants at the Silver Sands Public Car Park during the event provided the vehicle registration number is entered during sign-up; otherwise parking charges apply. The Beach Front Car Park must not be used for general parking and is reserved for cafe customers and disabled visitors.
The event is pre-entry only, carries an entry fee of £12.00, and has 125 total places. Refunds and deferrals are not offered; free entry transfers are allowed up to seven days before the event if arranged between entrants and notified to the organiser. Events are insured and held under Association of Running Clubs rules. Prizes are awarded for top overall finishers and in age categories.
