Dalesrunner 40
The DalesRunner 40 is a challenging 42km (approximately marathon distance) trail race held in Semerwater and Wensleydale, North Yorkshire. Taking place in September, it is the final and longest event in the DalesRunner series. The course features over 3,000 feet of ascent, including a steady 12km climb, and traverses a mix of hard-packed trails, Roman roads, grassy trods, and some road sections.
Runners enjoy scenic views over Buckden Pike, the Dales Way along the River Wharfe, and Weather Fell before a fast descent to the finish by Semerwater lake. The race offers well-stocked aid stations, mandatory safety kit, and a friendly atmosphere with supportive marshals. An ultra option extends the distance to about 30 miles.
