The MTC Richmond Ultra

The MTC Richmond Ultra is a point-to-point 33-mile river route from Travelodge Kingston (KT1 2PD) to the Thames Barrier. The course follows the Thames and passes Richmond Lock, Kew Palace and a long sequence of central London bridges before finishing at the Thames Barrier.

The race includes two staffed checkpoints that provide water and nutritional items. Example checkpoint food may include malt loaf, cake, jam, peanut butter, cheese or marmite sandwiches, sweets, squash, cola and water. Organisers endeavour to cater for gluten free, vegan and vegetarian choices where notified; other dietary needs should be supplied by the competitor or placed in drop bags at checkpoints.

Entrants must be self-sufficient for travel to the start and from the finish. Mandatory kit includes a GPX device or downloaded route map (with sufficient battery backup) and a mobile phone. Competitors must maintain an average minimum speed of 4.0 miles per hour including stops; those falling below this requirement will be removed from the race. Checkpoint closure times are 3 hours 10 minutes (CP1), 5 hours 45 minutes (CP2) and 7 hours 55 minutes (finish) after the race start.

All finishers receive a bespoke Richmond Ultra medal; additional event merchandise or technical items may also be supplied. The first male and female finishers receive bespoke Richmond Ultra trophies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
