Event details
The MTC Richmond Ultra is a point-to-point ultra marathon held on 9 August 2026 in London. The course distance is 33 miles with reported ascent of 105 m and descent of 109 m. The event is organised by Ultra Running Ltd. Entry is charged at £80 per person; a deferral option to the following year is available for £15. All payments are non refundable. There is an option to run for free by raising an agreed amount for the organiser’s preferred charity. The race awards a bespoke Richmond Ultra medal to all finishers; other finisher items may include a technical t-shirt, mug or hat and a Mount to Coast head scarf. The first male and female finishers receive bespoke trophies.
Route, checkpoints and rules
The route starts at Travelodge Kingston (KT1 2PD) and finishes at the Thames Barrier, passing Richmond Lock, Kew Palace and many Thames bridges including Chiswick, Barnes, Hammersmith, Putney, Wandsworth, Chelsea Harbour Pier, Battersea, Albert, Chelsea, Grosvenor, Vauxhall, Lambeth, Westminster, Hungerford, Waterloo, Blackfriars, Millennium, Southwark, London and Tower Bridge. The course includes two checkpoints that supply water and a range of nutrition items (example items listed: malt loaf, cake, sandwiches, sweets, squash, cola). Competitors must be self-sufficient for transport to the start and from the finish, carry mandatory kit (GPX device or downloaded route and a mobile phone) and be at least 20 years old. Entrants must maintain an average of 4.0 miles per hour; falling below this will result in removal. Checkpoint and finish closure times are specified relative to race start.
