Sid Valley Ring Half and Third Marathon, Saturday 9 May 2026

The event follows the Sid Valley Ring walking route and returns for a sixth edition in 2026. The course starts with an uphill section and reaches a high point of 236 m before descending to the village of Sidbury. Runners and walkers pass back lanes and footpaths through the hamlet of Harcombe, then climb toward Dunscombe cliffs and the coastal path with views across Lyme Bay including Portland and Berry Head. The route also passes the village of Salcombe Regis, a woodland section, and finishes with a final downhill into Sidmouth.

A new Third Marathon for 2026 follows the River Sid upstream to Sidford and then joins the Half Marathon route near Harcombe, with a stated distance of 13.5 km. The event lists The Ham Recreation Field as the location.

Entry fees include a donation toward trail maintenance. The organiser provides a fully marked course, additional event markers, first aid cover, aid stations (two on the Half and one on the Third Marathon), and a Sid Valley Ring solid oak coaster for all finishers. The route includes muddy sections and multiple climbs. The event is open to both runners and walkers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
