Sid Valley Ring Half and Third Marathon
Scheduled for Saturday 9 May 2026, the event returns for its sixth year. It follows the Sid Valley Ring walking route, a trail developed by Sidmouth Town Council and the Sid Vale Association. A donation from each entry is allocated to maintenance of the trail.
The route begins with an uphill section and climbs to 236 m before descending into the village of Sidbury. It continues along back lanes to the hamlet of Harcombe, then climbs toward Dunscombe cliffs and the coast path with views across Lyme Bay to Portland and Berry Head. The course also passes through Salcombe Regis and a woodland section before a final downhill to Sidmouth. The surface includes mud and hilly terrain.
Organiser provisions include a fully marked course with additional event markers, one aid station on the Third Marathon and two on the Half, first aid cover, and a solid oak coaster for all finishers. The event is open to both runners and walkers.
