Overview
The Sid Valley Ring Half and Third Marathon takes place on Saturday 9 May 2026. The event follows the Sid Valley Ring walking route and returns for its sixth year. A donation from each entry fee will go towards maintenance of the trail.

Course and logistics
The route starts with an uphill section and reaches a high point of 236 m. It uses quiet country lanes, footpaths, woodland and sections of coast path. The course passes through Sidbury, the hamlet of Harcombe, Dunscombe cliffs, Salcombe Regis and finishes back at Sidmouth. Views along the coast path include Lyme Bay, Portland and Berry Head. The Third Marathon follows the River Sid upstream to Sidford before joining the Half Marathon route near Harcombe.
The course will be fully marked and there will be one aid station on the Third Marathon and two on the Half Marathon. First aid cover is provided. All finishers receive a Sid Valley Ring solid oak coaster. The terrain includes mud and multiple hills. The event is open to runners and walkers. Entries open 27 May 2025 and close 7 May 2026; entry fees are £38.50 for the Half Marathon and £27.50 for the Third Marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
