Sickle Cell Warrior Walk & Run 5K
The Breaking The Sickle Cell Cycle Foundation, Inc. organizes the 6th Annual Sickle Cell Warrior Walk and Run to raise awareness of sickle cell disease and to strengthen connections within the Nashville area. The event explains that sickle cell disease is a genetic blood disorder that disproportionately affects minority populations while noting that any person can have the disease or carry the trait. Awards are presented to top 5K finishers. Overall prizes are listed for first through third place by gender with cash amounts of $150, $100, and $50. Age group awards are presented to first and second place male and female finishers in the following categories: 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 plus.
