Event overview
The 46th Annual Sickle Cell 5K Road Race/Walk takes place on September 5, 2026, in East Point, Georgia, at 2757 East Point Street in front of East Point City Hall. The event is a USATF certified course and serves as a Peachtree Road Race qualifying event. Proceeds benefit Camp New Light, a weeklong camp for children and teens living with sickle cell disease. The event includes an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option, plus youth categories for ages 6 and under and ages 7 to 17.
Practical information
Registration is open from September 8, 2025 through September 4, 2026; late registration is available on September 5 with higher fees. Standard fees listed are $45 for ages 18 and older, $35 for ages 7-17, free for ages 6 and under, and $55 for the virtual entry. Awards are given to the top 3 overall men and women, masters (40 and over) men and women, and the top 3 boys and girls in age groups 17 and under. Parking options include MARTA (East Point station on the Red and Gold Lines), city-owned lots behind the customer care center and at East Point Commons, on-street parking on nearby streets, and ride-hail dropoff in front of City Hall.
