About the race
The 46th Annual Sickle Cell 5K Road Race/Walk takes place on September 5, 2026, in East Point, Georgia. The event is USATF certified and serves as a Peachtree Road Race qualifying event. Proceeds benefit Camp New Light, a weeklong camp for children and teens living with sickle cell disease.
The event offers a 5K race/walk with in-person and virtual participation options. Registration fees are listed by age: $45 for ages 18 and older, $35 for ages 7 to 17, and free for children 6 and under. Awards include top three overall men and women, masters awards for men and women age 40 and over, and top three boys and girls in age groups 17 and under.
Packet pickup is scheduled on two days: Thursday, September 3, 4:00–7:00pm at Big Peach Running, 5829 Campbellton Rd SW, Atlanta; and Friday, September 4, 4:00–7:00pm at Oz Pizza, 2805 Main St, East Point. The in-person event assembles in front of East Point City Hall at 2757 East Point Street.
Parking information notes multiple options: MARTA service on the Red and Gold Lines with local bus connections, ride-share drop-off in front of East Point City Hall, city-owned parking lots behind the customer care center and in the East Point Commons area, and on-street parking on nearby streets including Linwood Avenue, West Cleveland Avenue, and McGee Way.
