Sickle Cell 5K Road Race/Walk
The 46th Annual Sickle Cell 5K Road Race/Walk takes place in East Point, Georgia in front of East Point City Hall at 2757 East Point Street. The event is USATF certified and is a Peachtree Road Race qualifying event. It functions as a fundraiser and community gathering to support people affected by sickle cell disease. Proceeds benefit Camp New Light, a weeklong camp for children and teens living with sickle cell disease.
The event offers an in-person 5K race/walk with age divisions and a virtual 5K option. Parking and access options include MARTA service on the Red and Gold Lines, rideshare drop off at East Point City Hall, city-owned parking lots near the customer care center and East Point Commons, and on-street parking on nearby neighborhood streets. Organizers note not to block driveways or mailboxes when using street parking.
