Shropshire Triathlon
The Shropshire Triathlon takes place at The Mere, Cremorne Gardens, Ellesmere, Shropshire, SY12 0PA on Saturday 19 June 2027. The Shropshire Middle Triathlon and the Ultimate Half Triathlon have been combined as the Ultimate 100 Triathlon and run alongside other Ultimate Triathlon events at the same venue and weekend.
The venue, The Mere at Ellesmere, received the Green Flag Award for eight consecutive years. Key event features include an open water freshwater swim in The Mere, a bike course through Shropshire and Welsh countryside on smooth tarmac, and a fully tarmac run course closed to traffic. Registration, swim start, transition and the finish are located close to each other. Limited free camping is available onsite. An official event photographer will be present and all finishers receive a medal.
Distances and formats include:
- Olympic Individual: 1.5 km swim, 39 km cycle, 10 km run
- Olympic Team Relay: 1.5 km swim, 39 km cycle, 10 km run
- Sprint Individual: 750 m swim, 25 km cycle, 5 km run
- Sprint Team Relay: 750 m swim, 25 km cycle, 5 km run
- Super Sprint Individual: 200 m swim, 25 km cycle, 2.5 km run
Minimum age on race day is 17 years for Olympic events and 16 years for Sprint and Super Sprint. Relay teams may consist of two or three people; team members pass an electronic timing chip in transition. Competitor race day information, including race number and start time, is emailed 7 to 10 days before the event and race packs are collected at registration on the day.
