Shropshire Backyard Ultra 2027
Shropshire Backyard Ultra takes place at The West Mid Show Ground in SY12PF. The event offers individual and team backyard ultra formats plus a team 24 hour relay. The traditional backyard format requires competitors to complete a 4.167 mile loop every hour on the hour; runners who do not start the next loop on time are eliminated until a single competitor remains.
Team options score points as team members complete loops. The 24 hour team relay challenges teams to work together to cover 100 miles within 24 hours; if the runner on a lap does not return in time the team is eliminated. All competitors receive a commemorative event medal and runners who reach 100 miles individually receive a 100 Mile Club medal.
Support on site includes hydration drinks, a selection of race nutrition, a complimentary soup station, a complimentary hot dog station, a first aid station, and a team providing day and night support. The course is fully enclosed. Camping and event shelters are permitted in the resting enclosure, and overnight camping is available on the Friday and Saturday nights via the venue.
