Short Run Long Day 5K Run/Walk - 26th Annual

The Short Run Long Day 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for June 17, 2026, at Main Park in Frankfort, Illinois, located at 400 W. Nebraska. The course is a U.S. Track and Field certified 5k (3.1 miles) that runs along the Old Plank Trail and through the streets of Historic Frankfort. Water will be available on the course.

Registration opens April 21. The fee is $25 per person until noon on June 8 and $35 per person after that through race day. Race shirts are guaranteed to runners who registered by Wednesday, May 20.

Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers and to the top finisher in each age division for both genders. After the race there will be an awards presentation and DJ music. Healthy refreshments and water will be provided for runners and walkers; items are available on a first come basis and will not be replenished. The event welcomes family attendance at the post-race celebration.

Parking is available at Main Park, Frankfort Village Hall, the Park District Preschool Building and on neighborhood streets. The event is sponsored by a number of local and regional organizations including Town Center Bank, Jeffrey LaMorte Salon and Day Spa, Chicago Stem Cell Therapy, DOT Foods, Raising Canes Chicken Fingers New Lenox, Chick-fil-A Frankfort and others.
