2026 Short Run Long Day 5k Run/Walk
The Short Run Long Day 5k Run/Walk is an annual event held in Frankfort, Illinois. The 2026 edition marks the 26th year of this race. The event features a single distance for participants:

The course is a United States Track & Field Certified route. It begins and ends at Main Park and utilizes a section of the Old Plank Trail. Participants also travel through the streets of historic downtown Frankfort. A water station is located along the course for hydration.
Awards are presented following the conclusion of the event to the top overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the first-place finishers in each age division for both men and women receive recognition.
Post-race activities take place at the park, featuring DJ music and an awards presentation. Registered participants have access to water and various refreshments, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees who register by May 20 are guaranteed an event race shirt.
