Event information

Shiver by the River #1 takes place on Saturday, January 10, 2026 in Scranton, PA (3 West Olive St, 18508). The event includes the following distances:

5k Run
10k Run
2mi Walk

Awards are given to the top overall male and female for both the 5K and 10K. Age-group awards for male and female are offered in these groups: 0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. The top overall walker will also receive an award.

Logistics

Standard registration price listed is $15 per event. Registration closes January 8, 2026 at 11:59pm EST. Day-of registration is available at a listed day-of price of $20 and is open from 8:30am to 9:45am. Packet pickup for pre-registered participants is scheduled for Friday, January 9 at Scranton Running Co. from 12pm to 7pm; day-of packet pickup is also available from 8:30am to 9:45am. T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 300 pre-registered participants; a limited number of shirts will be available on event day. Course maps are provided separately for the 5K and 10K.
