Scranton Half Marathon : April 11–12, 2026
The 13th edition of the Scranton Half Marathon takes place over two days in Scranton, Pennsylvania, with the in-person hub at PenFed Credit Union Field at Memorial Stadium. The event aims to highlight the local area and support local businesses through increased exposure and revenue.
The event program includes:
- Half Marathon Run
- Half Marathon Walk
- Half Marathon Run/Walk
- 5k Run Only
- The Doherty Double (5k and Half)
- Virtual Half Marathon Run
- Virtual Half Marathon Walk
- Kid's 1/4 Mile Fun Run (ages 5–8)
- Kid's 1/2 Mile Fun Run (ages 9–12)
Key participation details: the Half Marathon Walk is fully chip timed, provides a finisher medal and gift, and offers overall awards for male and female finishers; aid stations for the walk begin at mile 7.5. A new run/walk category for the half marathon records run/walkers as runners. The 5k has a 50 minute cutoff (about a 16 minute per mile pace); times beyond the cutoff will not be recorded.
Virtual participants may run or walk the half marathon distance during the race weekend, receive race swag, and are not eligible for age group awards or cash prizes. Bib and shirt pickup is available during the race expo and at the stadium. The race has donated more than $450,000 in its first eleven years to the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority.
