About the Event
The Shinzen Run/Walk is a fundraising event that started over 35 years ago. Proceeds from the event benefit the Shinzen Garden in Fresno, California.
The event offers multiple distances:
- 2 Mile Run/Walk
- 5k Run/Walk
- 10 Mile Run
There is also a Virtual Run option, where participants can run their chosen distance anywhere. A separate "Breakfast & Garden Only" ticket is available for non-participants.
Participant Benefits
All registered participants receive a finisher medal, a t-shirt, and a pancake breakfast. Registration also includes free entry to the Shinzen Garden. Age group awards are given in categories from 6-9 years old up to 70 and above. First-place male and female winners in each age group for the 5k and 10 mile events receive a small bonsai plant kit.
Venue
The event is held at Woodward Park in Fresno, at the Group Activity Area on North Friant Road. The race starts just north of the Shinzen Garden and finishes inside the Group Activity Area, where the pancake breakfast is served. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
