Shinfield 10km
The Shinfield 10km is organised by Reading Roadrunners and held in Shinfield on Monday 4 May 2026 under a UKA licence. The event offers a measured 10 km race with chip timing and SMS results sent to competitors' mobile phones. All finishers receive a medal and age-group prizes are awarded from senior categories up to 80 plus. There is a prize for the first male and female local finishers in RG2 and RG7 postcodes.
Race facilities include friendly marshals, bag storage and toilets. Race parking is provided courtesy of the University of Reading at Thames Valley Science Park; parking is free and listed at postcode RG2 9LH, what3words ///wake.hedge.hunter. Certain roads will be closed on the day under a traffic order from Wokingham Borough Council, affecting Hyde End Road and Beke Avenue.
Entry fees are published separately for UKA affiliated and non-affiliated runners, with different advance and on-the-day rates; online entries close the day before the event. A limited number of on-the-day entries may be available but medals cannot be guaranteed for those entrants. Transfers are possible via the organiser’s self-serve link before the online entry deadline. Personal music players are not permitted during the race, and no dogs, buggies, pushchairs or wheelchairs are allowed.
