Event Overview
The Shinfield 10k is a road running event organized by Reading Roadrunners. It holds a UK Athletics license (number 30679). The main 10 km race takes place on Monday, May 4th, 2026. Junior cross country races for different age groups follow later in the day.
Event Features
The event provides chip timing, with results sent via SMS to a runner's mobile phone. All finishers receive a medal. Age group prizes are awarded from senior categories up to 80+, and there is a separate prize for the first male and female local finishers (with RG2 or RG7 postcodes).
On-site facilities include bag storage and toilets. Free parking is available at Thames Valley Science Park, with a £2 cash charity donation requested per vehicle. Marshals are noted as friendly and supportive. The event has raised over £135,000 for local charities since its inception as a fun run in 1985.
