Shi-Tri
Shi-Tri is a run, paddle, and bike triathlon that begins and ends in downtown Owosso, Michigan, along the Shiawassee River. The event promotes community fitness and supports the Friends of the Shiawassee River in their work to share, care for, and promote enjoyment of the river.
The course sequence is run, paddle, then bike. The run is an approximately 3.1 mile route from downtown Owosso to McCurdy Park in Corunna. From McCurdy Park participants launch a kayak or canoe and paddle about 3.1 miles back to Owosso on the Shiawassee River. The final leg is an approximately 9 mile bike loop that travels through city streets and country roads and returns to downtown Owosso.
Event formats include individual entrants and 2 to 3 person relay teams. Registration fees listed for the current edition are $60 for individual entries and $100 for relay teams. The event relies on more than 100 volunteers to support its operations. Official 2026 routes will be posted in March 2026; previous years' routes are available as examples.
