Shepherds Skyline Fell Race
The Shepherds Skyline Fell Race takes place on 7 November 2026 in Todmorden. It is a Category BS fell race of 10 km with about 350 m of ascent. The course is described as fast and muddy, with a steep descent off Stoodley Pike followed by a stiff climb back up the hill.
Entry is available on the day for £5.00. The minimum age for competitors is 16 and there are no junior races this year. A course sketch map is provided by the organiser.
All competitors must carry the kit specified by the Race Organiser to meet FRA minimum requirements. Required items could include a full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle. Waterproof clothing should meet FRA standards such as an integral hood, taped seams and sufficient length. There will be kit checks at the start and at the finish; failure to carry required kit may lead to disqualification and further disciplinary action.
Race headquarters is the Shepherds Rest Inn on Lumbutts Road, Todmorden OL14 6JJ, grid reference GR945232 on the OS South Pennines Leisure sheet 21. Early arrivals may use the pub car parks; other vehicles will be directed to park along the road. Do not park in the coned gap areas which act as passing places for larger vehicles.
