Shepherds Skyline Fell Race
The Shepherds Skyline Fell Race takes place on 7 November 2026 and is organised by Todmorden Harriers. The course is a classified BS fell race covering 10 km with about 350 m of ascent. It is described as a fast, muddy route that includes a steep descent off Stoodley Pike immediately followed by a steep climb back up the hill.
Entry is available on the day for £5.00. The minimum age for competitors is 16 and there will be no junior races this year. Race headquarters are at the Shepherds Rest Inn, Lumbutts Road, Todmorden, OL14 6JJ, with a grid reference given on local OS mapping.
Competitors must carry the kit specified by the Race Organiser to meet FRA minimum requirements; this may include full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle. Jackets and overpants must meet the FRA standards described by the organiser. Kit checks will be carried out at the start and finish; failure to carry required kit will lead to disqualification and may be reported to the FRA. The organiser notes that the required kit may still be insufficient for some conditions and asks runners to judge additional needs for safety.
Parking arrangements use the pub car parks for early arrivals, with marshals directing others to road parking while avoiding coned-off passing places. Results archives are available for many years, including records back to 1999. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
