Shenipsit Striders Summer Fatass
The event is scheduled for August 15, 2026 and is listed as tentative until permits are secured. It takes place at the Pavilion at Crandall's Park, 120 Cider Mill Rd, Tolland, CT, and is organized by the Shenipsit Striders trail running club as part of their ongoing 50th anniversary activities.
Organizers will mark an approximately 5K course on trails with the start and finish at the Pavilion. Participants may run the loop as many or as few times as they wish during the eight-hour period. A Garmin course and a GPX file are available for the marked route.
For every completed loop, runners receive a raffle ticket. There are hidden treasures along the course that can be turned in for additional tickets. Prizes include free race entries and Shenipsit Striders merchandise among other items. This is a potluck event; attendees are encouraged to bring a dish, snacks, or drinks. The organizers will provide some burgers and hot dogs from the grill. Runners who sign up and complete at least one loop will receive a Shenipsit Strider 50th anniversary gift.
