Shenipsit Striders Summer Fatass
The Shenipsit Striders Summer Fatass is an eight hour community running event held at the Pavilion at Crandall's Park, 120 Cider Mill Rd, Tolland, CT. The event continues the club's 50th anniversary celebration and combines trail running with social activities.
Organizers mark a roughly 5K loop on trails with the start and finish at the Pavilion. Participants may run the loop as many times or as few times as they wish during the eight hour period. For every completed loop, runners receive a raffle ticket that can be entered for prizes such as free race entries and Shenipsit Striders merchandise. There are also hidden items on the course that can be turned in for additional tickets.
The event is presented as a potluck; attendees are encouraged to bring dishes, snacks, or drinks. Organizers will provide some burgers and hot dogs from the grill. Runners who register and complete at least one loop will receive a Shenipsit Strider 50th anniversary gift.
The event date is tentative until permits are secured. Registration closes Friday, August 14 at 11:59 PM ET.
