Shelton Stampede 4th of July Run
The Shelton Stampede is an annual community running event held in Shelton, NE. The 2026 edition is the 17th running of the event, and Common Ground Coffee will be present again.
Event offerings include multiple race options:
- 5K (USATF certified course)
- 1 mile
- Virtual race
The 5K course is officially USATF certified and certification documents are available. Training plans and additional preparation resources are provided on the event founder's website.
Registration includes same-day check-in and walk-up registration is welcome. Each race registrant receives one free raffle entry; additional raffle tickets are sold at $1 for one ticket and $5 for six tickets. Prizes will be available through the raffle.
Awards for the 5K include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and age group medals for top male and female in these divisions: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 and over. The top three overall finishers receive trophies only and are excluded from age group medals. The 1 mile race awards medals for multiple youth and adult age groups.
Proceeds support the Shelton Cross Country and Track and Field Teams, with funds intended for equipment and facility improvements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
