Olympiad 5K Run and 1.5 Mile Walk
The Olympiad 5K Run and 1.5 Mile Walk is a community sports event held in Kearney, Nebraska. The event is organized through a partnership between CHI Health Good Samaritan and the City of Kearney Park and Recreation Department. Participants can choose between two distinct event formats:
- 5K: A timed running race.
- 1.5 Miles: An untimed walk.
The event features a structured awards system for the 5K distance. Medals are presented to the first, second, and third place finishers in various age divisions. These divisions are categorized based on the participant's age on the day of the race and include the following groups: 13 and under, 14-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus.
Registration for both distances is open to the public for a fee. Check-in and packet pick-up take place locally at 3060 East 1st Street prior to the start of the activities. The event provides an opportunity for residents and visitors to participate in a organized athletic activity within the city's park system.
