Sheetz-to-Sheetz Trail Run

The Sheetz-to-Sheetz Trail Run is a 14-mile untimed, point-to-point event in King George, Virginia, scheduled for April 4, 2026. The route begins at the King George Middle School Sheetz (Store #573) and finishes at the Dahlgren Sheetz (Store #259). Most of the course follows the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail (DRHT) and combines 1.4 miles of road with 12.6 miles on the rail-trail. The trail surface includes dirt, gravel, and short sections of pea gravel or small (2") rocks, and the elevation is minimal. Dogs are not permitted except for trained service animals.

Course, aid stations and logistics

There are four on-course aid stations plus support at the start and finish. Notable aid stops include pie at mile 3.14, a campsite aid station with s’mores and toilets at mile 6.2, fruit snacks at mile 10.2, and homemade soft pretzel nuggets and a toilet at mile 12.5. The race operates as a cupless event; each runner receives a HydraPak SpeedCup at the start and volunteers pour water and electrolyte drink into runners' cups. Pre-race parking is at King George Gateway Shopping Center with shuttle buses to the start. Packet pickup is offered on four days at specified locations in Richmond, Fredericksburg, Dahlgren, and at the start line on race morning. Finishers receive practical swag including a Sheetz insulated travel mug, a custom sweat towel, a SpeedCup, and post-race snacks. Proceeds support Sheetz For the Kidz and other local causes.
