Event overview
The Sheetz-to-Sheetz Trail Run is an untimed, point-to-point trail event held in King George, Virginia on April 4, 2026. The course distance is 14 miles and the event raises funds for local charities, including Sheetz For the Kidz®. The race is open to ages 14 and up and has historically sold out quickly.
Course, logistics and services
The route starts at the King George Middle School Sheetz and finishes at the Dahlgren Sheetz. The first 1.4 miles are on road, followed by 12.6 miles on the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail. The trail is generally flat with minimal elevation and a surface of dirt, gravel, and short sections of pea gravel or small (2") rocks. Shuttle buses run from parking near the finish to the start line; parking is provided at the King George Gateway Shopping Center. Post-race, finish-line parking is within walking distance or accessible by a courtesy shuttle. Dogs are not permitted except for trained service animals.
Aid stations, sustainability and finish items
There are four on-course aid stations plus start and finish stations. On-course stops (mileage approximate) include pie at 3.14 miles; a campsite station at 6.2 miles with s'mores, Peeps and toilets; fruit snacks at 10.2 miles; and soft pretzel nuggets at 12.5 miles. The event is cupless: each runner receives a HydraPak SpeedCup for volunteer-poured water and electrolyte drink service. Finishers receive practical swag such as an insulated Sheetz travel mug, a custom sweat towel, a reusable cup, snacks, and a drawstring bag. Proceeds have supported local causes, with $27,233 donated to date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
