Event overview

The Sheetz-to-Sheetz Trail Run is an untimed, point-to-point trail run in King George, Virginia, scheduled for April 4, 2026. Course and logistics

The course distance is 14 miles (1.4 miles on road plus 12.6 miles on the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail). The trail is flat with minimal elevation and consists mainly of dirt and gravel with short sections of pea gravel or small rocks. The start location is the King George Middle School Sheetz (Store #573) and the finish is the Dahlgren Sheetz (Store #259). Parking is provided at King George Gateway Shopping Center near the finish, and shuttle buses transport runners to the start. A free bag drop service is available at the start and finish.

Aid stations, cup policy, swag and prizes

There are four on-course aid stations plus start and finish stations. Notable stops include Mile 3.14 (pie and water), Mile 6.2 (s’mores, Peeps, snacks, water, electrolyte drink, toilets), Mile 10.2 (fruit snacks, water), Mile 12.5 (pretzel nuggets, water, electrolyte drink, toilet), and finish-line offerings including doughnuts. The race is cupless: each runner receives a HydraPak SpeedCup at the start and volunteers pour water and electrolyte drink into those cups. Finishers receive event swag such as an insulated Sheetz travel mug, custom towel, SpeedCup, drawstring bag, and post-race snacks.
