Sheep Mountain Trail Runs - Fairplay, Colorado
Sheep Mountain Trail Runs takes place on August 1, 2026, with the start and finish at the Town of Fairplay Beach in Fairplay, CO. The event is the 12th annual running in this series and has a runner capacity of 300 and a 16 hour time limit for the longest course.
The course sits at an average elevation above 10,600 feet and follows terrain on the western slope of the South Park Valley. The route includes a mix of technical singletrack, remote forest service roads, flowing dirt county roads and USFS fire roads, with some rocky sections. Aid stations are described as well stocked.

- Half Marathon
There are mid race drop down options for the longer distances. A 50 mile starter may drop to the 50k at the Brown's Pass Aid Station; 50 mile and 50k starters may drop to the Heavy Half at the Horseshoe Aid Station on the first time through. There is no drop down option for the Heavy Half and no refunds or credits for changing distance.
All finishers receive a unique finisher's award. The event is permitted by the Pike National Forest - South Park Ranger District, Park County, the Town of Fairplay, the Bureau of Land Management, and consenting private landowners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
