Event Overview
The Shearer's Chip Chase is an annual event in downtown Brewster, Ohio, featuring multiple running and walking events. All proceeds from the event benefit the Brewster Fireman Association.
Event Distances
The event includes several formats:
- "Chip Off the Old Block": An untimed, approximately 100-yard kids' fun run for children 12 and under.
- 5K Run/Walk: A standard 5K event.
- 5K Wheelchair Division: A 5K event for wheelchair participants.
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk: A remote participation option where results can be submitted online.
Event Details
The finish line for all racing events is located in Bimeler Park, where refreshments and awards are presented. The park is located directly across from the Bell Stores, behind the Brewster Moose, on State Route 93.
Participants in the kids' fun run receive a t-shirt, medal, and finisher's goodie bag. T-shirts for all events are only guaranteed for registrations received by May 13, 2026. A family discount is offered for the 5K events, with $5 off for each registrant after the first when checking out with the same account.
Awards
Awards are given for the 5K Run/Walk. The top three overall male and female finishers are recognized, as are the top three overall male and female wheelchair finishers. Age group awards are also presented for numerous categories ranging from 9 and under to 85 and over.
Additional Information
