Shearer's Chip Chase : event overview
The 18th Annual Shearer's Food Chip Chase 5K Run/Walk takes place on May 29, 2026, in downtown Brewster, Ohio. The event is organized to benefit the Brewster Fireman Association; proceeds and donations support that organization.
The event program includes:
- Kids Fun Run, an unmeasured approx. 100-yard run for children.
- 5K Run/Walk on a measured 5-kilometre course.
- 5K Wheelchair Division.
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk with mailed items for participants.
Race day packet pickup and race-day registration are held at the starting area located east of the Brewster Fire Department at 110 Main St SE, with all racers finishing in Bimeler Park. Bimeler Park is used for refreshments and awards; it is located across from the Bell Stores behind the Brewster Moose.
Awards for the 5K include top three overall male and female, top three wheelchair male and female, and top three male and female in multiple age groups spanning youth to 85 and over. The Kids Fun Run is for children age 8 and under; young participants receive a shirt, medal, and finisher goodie bag, with shirts guaranteed for registrations completed by 05-13-2026.
The virtual option allows posting of times from May 29 to June 15. Virtual items will be shipped after the event by June 15 and are expected to arrive by June 20. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
