About the race
Sharsheret West Coast Dash takes place on October 25, 2026 at Dockweiler Beach in Playa Del Rey, California. The event comprises multiple run and walk options plus a festival near the ocean on a fully paved course. Distances offered include:
- 10K Run/Walk
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1K Family Fun Race
- Virtual 5K
Race entries for the 5K and 10K include a race t-shirt and a finisher’s medal; those distances will be chip timed. The Family Fun Race includes a t-shirt and medal, is open to all ages starting at 1 year, and will not be chip timed. Virtual race entries are available nationwide; tickets purchased by October 7 include a mailed race t-shirt.
Logistics note: the first 200 cars receive a free parking pass; paid parking is available for $13 per car and cash is recommended. There are three parking lots; the second lot is closest to the start line by an approximate five-minute walk. The third lot has very limited spaces and is reserved for volunteers and attendees who require accessibility accommodations; vehicles in that lot will not be able to exit while the event is in progress.
The event includes an awards ceremony, recognition of healthcare and community heroes, a Young Leaders Award, a festival with food and entertainment, and a group beach clean up following the Dash. Early packet pickup is scheduled for October 22 from 4–7pm. Contributions excluding the value of race entry tickets are tax-deductible.
