Sharsheret West Coast Dash
On October 25, 2026, Sharsheret will gather hundreds of thrivers, caregivers, friends and supporters at Dockweiler Beach in Playa Del Rey for the 5th Annual West Coast Dash to support breast and ovarian cancer programs. The event includes multiple race distances and a festival with food, refreshments and entertainment.
Race distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run/Walk
- Family Fun Race (1K)
- Virtual Race (5K)
The course is fully paved and located steps from the ocean, offering coastal views and a morning ocean breeze. Race entry for the 5K and 10K includes a race t-shirt and finisher’s medal; those two distances will be chip timed. The Family Fun Race includes a t-shirt and medal, is open to ages 1 and up, will not be chip timed, and welcomes strollers and participants of varying abilities. Virtual race entries include a race t-shirt by mail for tickets purchased by October 7.
Parking on site requires cash; the first 200 cars receive a free parking pass. There are three parking lots; the second lot is a short walk to the start and festival. The third lot has very limited space and is reserved for volunteers and those who require wheelchairs or other special needs; there is no exit from that lot while the event is ongoing.
The event will recognize a Healthcare Hero, a Community Hero, and recipients of a Young Leaders Award. Contributions excluding the value of race entry tickets are tax-deductible. A group beach clean up will take place following the Dash. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
