Sharsheret West Coast Dash
The Sharsheret West Coast Dash is an annual community event held at Dockweiler Beach in Playa del Rey, California. Now in its fifth year, this gathering takes place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to support work related to breast and ovarian cancer. The event follows a coastal route and is open to participants of all ages and abilities, including those using strollers.
Participants can choose from several participation options:
- 10 km (chip timed)
- 5 km (chip timed)
- 1 km Family Fun Race
- Virtual Race (remote participation)
The 10 km and 5 km races are recommended for participants of elementary school age and above. The Family Fun Race is a 1 km course designed for people of all generations to walk or run together. For those unable to attend in person at the beach, a virtual option allows for participation from any location.
The event includes an on-site festival that runs throughout the morning. In-person race entries include a race t-shirt and a finisher's medal. Competitions are held for various categories, including the largest teams from schools or synagogues, top fundraisers, and best race day costumes. Packet pick-up is available on the Thursday prior to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
