Shark Stride 5K

The 5K is organized by a group of more than 20 Physician Assistant students based in Orlando. It is an annual race that raises funds for a medical mission trip to the Alta Verapaz region of Guatemala. The organizers work with the nonprofit Hands of Esperanza to provide medical support and healthcare to members of a local indigenous community.
All general admission tickets include a T shirt. All proceeds are donated toward medical supplies, medications, smoke diverting stoves, and durable water filtration systems for the mission. The event is described as a fun race; participants may bring their own race clock and time themselves.
