Shark in the Park 5K : Indian Harbour Beach
The Shark in the Park 5K is a community 5K run and walk held on June 20, 2026, at Gleason Park in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. The event commemorates a 2014 incident when a three-and-a-half foot bull shark was found in the park lake, was relocated to the Indian River, and became the local story behind the race name.
The course begins in Gleason Park, proceeds through the tree lined park and nearby neighborhoods, and finishes back in the park. An after party takes place at the finish area. Finisher medals are available for the first 500 registered participants. The listed event fee is $35.
The event listing refers to race groups called "Shivers" and includes pre-race resources such as packet pickup, parking, awards, and a course map. The City of Indian Harbour Beach is presented as the host. The race location is given as Gleason Park, 1233 Yacht Club Blvd., Indian Harbour Beach, FL 32937.
