Sevenoaks Circular Challenge
The Sevenoaks Circular Challenge is an established long-distance event organized by the LDWA Kent group. The event features three different route options that traverse various sections of the North Downs and the Greensand Ridge. Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 30 Miles
- 20 Miles
- 15 Miles
The course is designed to provide views across West Kent. All routes start and finish at West Heath School in Sevenoaks. For the 30-mile distance, different starting windows are available depending on whether participants are fast walkers or runners. A general finish time of 19:00 is set for all participants across all distances.
The event provides indoor checkpoints located along the routes. These stations serve water, tea, coffee, and cold snacks. Hot food is also provided to all participants at the finish line. Due to environmental considerations, participants must carry their own reusable mug as none are provided at the checkpoints.
Required equipment for the event includes a printed route description, maps (OS Explorer 147), and a compass. Participants expected to finish after 16:00 are required to carry a torch. Suitable footwear and clothing for variable terrain are advised. Please note that dogs are not permitted on the school grounds or throughout the event. Parking is available on-site at the school car park under the direction of marshals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
