Senior Inter-Counties Mountain Race : EORRC Up and Down Trial
This event is an up and down mountain running trial held in Sedbergh and organised by British Athletics. It combines a British Athletics selection race for the European Off-Road Running Championships with the Senior Inter-Counties Mountain Race. Entries are by pre-entry and the event uses pre-selection lists to allocate places. An entry fee of £15.00 is stated.
Course details are provided for two categories:
- Seniors: 14.5 km with 980 m ascent and descent
- U20: 5.8 km with 390 m ascent and descent
The race start and finish are above Lockbank Farm. Access is via Howgill Lane and the public footpath by the farm; competitors are asked to close gates. The course will be marked and marshalled. Sportident timing is used; competitors must return to the hall after finishing to download times and return their dibber. A lost dibber incurs a £30 charge.
Senior entries are restricted to county competitors and those trialling for GB & NI selection, and entries from non-county participants will be vetted. U20 entries are open to athletes born in 2007, 2008, 2009, or 2010. Team composition rules allow up to four runners, with a possible fifth if at least one team member is under 23.
Minimum hill safety kit is mandatory: waterproof top with taped seams, waterproof bottoms, hat, and gloves. Failure to comply may lead to disqualification.
Registration, toilets, and marshal parking are at the People’s Hall; competitor parking is at Sedbergh School sports fields off Back Lane with a £5 charge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
