About the race
Beyond the Lune - Christmas Crumble Run is a trail running event on 19 December 2026 in Kirkby Lonsdale, starting from The Barn at Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery and Coffee Roasters. Two waymarked routes use local footpaths, bridleways and sections of road, with a mix of on- and off-road terrain through the surrounding parishes and the area around Brownthwaite Pike (Bullpot). Runners pass features such as Devils Bridge, the river path and the Radical Steps, and higher sections include a trig point and views over the Lune Valley and the Lake District; on a clear day Blackpool Tower may be visible. Both routes include provisions and event items: a free pastry and hot drink at the start, a GPX file of the route, event merchandise, a finishers beer and a seasonal Christmas Crumble Box.
The 10 km route is fully signed and supported by marshals; the 20 km route is partially signed and requires self-navigation in low visibility. The event has an age minimum of 16 years; 16 to 18 year olds must run with an adult. Entry fee is listed as GBP 25 for each distance.
