Semper Fred 5K - Marine Corps Marathon
The Semper Fred 5K is a family-friendly, all ages 3.1 mile event in historic Fredericksburg held the day before the Marine Corps Historic Half. The event uses a brand new 5K course and is presented by the Marine Corps Marathon Organization.
The race is offered as part of the Esprit de Corps Challenge, a two-day test of endurance that pairs the Semper Fred 5K with the Marine Corps Historic Half. Participants who complete both events receive each event medal plus an exclusive challenge medal.
The event references Marine Corps physical fitness finish time standards for a 3 mile run: males 28 minutes or less and females 31 minutes or less. Military registration is available at a discounted rate for active duty service members and reservists; the discount is applied to the event price and remains available until the event sells out.
Registrations for the event are final; transfers and deferrals are not permitted. Refundable registration may be purchased during registration for an additional service fee equal to 14 percent of purchased items, which allows a 100 percent refund minus the service fee. Refundable registration does not cover cancellations due to participant concerns about illness without a positive test, event cancellation, or processing fees.
