The Seize the Day Warrior Walk + 5K in Baton Rouge is organized by Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana and takes place on April 18, 2026. It is the 22nd annual event and is a fundraising event to support people living with epilepsy through local programs and services. The event in Baton Rouge includes these distance options:
- 1 mile Warrior Walk (walk-only, untimed)
- 5K Run/Walk (timed, in-person)
- 5K Virtual (submit results remotely)
Baton Rouge will host both the Warrior Walk and the 5K; several other Louisiana cities will host the Warrior Walk only.
Logistics
The event location is Pennington Biomedical Research Center, 6400 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70808. Early packet pick-up is offered on Thursday, April 16 and Friday, April 17 at Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana (2041 Silverside Dr.). Race day packet pick-up and same-day registration are available at the event site.
Wheelchairs and strollers are permitted on the course, though a small section of the 5K route is not paved. Tents and decorated umbrellas are allowed; umbrellas belonging to epilepsy warriors will be eligible for a decorating contest. Air horns, cowbells, scooters, bikes, RVs, and pets are not allowed; service animals are allowed. Parking access is from Perkins Road only; another entrance will be blocked.
