Seize the Day Warrior Walk + 5K - Baton Rouge
Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana hosts the 22nd annual Seize the Day event on April 18, 2026 at Pennington Biomedical Research Center, 6400 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70808. The event raises funds for programs and services that support people living with epilepsy and aims to increase awareness across Louisiana.
The event includes multiple participation options:
- Warrior Walk (1 mile) - untimed
- 5K Run/Walk - timed
- Virtual 5K
In-person participation includes a chipped bib for the timed 5K, an event t-shirt, a finisher medal, and after-race family activities. Virtual participants receive a race t-shirt and a finisher medal; mailed packets are scheduled in mid April 2026. Early packet pick-up is available at Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana and race day packet pick-up is located at Pennington Biomedical Research Center.
Course and site notes state that wheelchairs and strollers are welcome, though a small section of the 5K route is not paved. Service animals are allowed; pets and certain noisemaking or wheeled devices are not permitted. Parking access is from Perkins Road only with the Kenilworth entrance blocked. The event also features team contests for fundraising, team size, and best t-shirt, plus a parasol and umbrella decorating contest focused on epilepsy warriors.
