Events

The event takes place at Druid Hill Park in Baltimore. It is the fifth edition of an annual run-up to Juneteenth. The event serves as the official kick-off to the AFRAM festival's 50th anniversary celebrations.

  • 1-Mile Walk (in-person and virtual options)

Event Details

Proceeds support the SEED School of Maryland's College Transition & Success Program. The race will use routes in Druid Hill Park that are historically connected to the AFRAM festival's community runs.

A prize is awarded for the best 1976-themed throwback outfit, in reference to the founding year of the AFRAM festival.

Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female in several age groups.

Registered participants receive chip timing, a race t-shirt, and post-race water and a banana. The event site offers free parking and a "Race Village" with music and a juice truck.

Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at Charm City Run Fells Point in Baltimore, and on-site on race day. The event is held rain or shine, but may transition to a virtual format if weather conditions become unsafe. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
