Seaton Classic 10k
The NI & Ulster Championship Seaton Classic is a road race over 10 km held in Bangor on Saturday 26 September 2026. The event is organised in association with John Minnis Estate Agents and is hosted by North Down Athletic Club.
The course starts in Castle Park near the front of the City Hall and finishes in Ward Park. The route passes through Bangor city centre, follows coastal and countryside roads to Groomsport where it loops before returning to Bangor. The course is described as fairly flat and fast with a short hill around 9 km. Roads remain open to traffic except for a few closures at critical points. The race is held under an Athletics NI permit and has been accurately measured.
The race will be chip timed and there is no virtual option. Water stations are provided at Groomsport and at the finish. Post-race refreshments will be available in the bowling pavilion adjacent to the finish area. Pack collection takes place at Bangor Aurora Aquatic & Leisure Complex on Friday 25 September 2026 from 17:00 to 20:00 and on Saturday 26 September 2026 from 07:30 to 09:30; club pack collections are available during these times.
Participants must be 15 years or older on race day. General entry opens 3 July 2026, with a prior registration period restricted to Athletics NI registered athletes. Entry options vary by included items and by Athletics NI registration status, with fees ranging from £16 to £28. The total prize fund exceeds £4,100 and includes age category prizes for both male and female competitors. Race rules follow UK Athletics and Athletics NI regulations; in line with those rules, headphones are not permitted except bone conduction types, and runners may not compete pushing buggies or accompanied by dogs.
