Seaton Classic 10k : Northern Ireland and Ulster Championship
The Seaton Classic is a chip-timed 10 km road race in Bangor that incorporates the Northern Ireland and Ulster 10k championship under Athletics Northern Ireland regulations. The route starts in Castle Park near the City Hall and finishes in Ward Park. The course is described as fairly flat with a downhill section into the city centre, coastal stretches around Ballyholme and Groomsport, and a short hill near the 9 km mark. Roads remain open to traffic and the route is marshalled and clearly marked.
Registration opens 19 June for ANI-registered athletes and goes on general sale from 3 July. Multiple entry options are offered with different combinations of medal and technical t-shirt at set prices for ANI and non-ANI registrants, and limited entries may be available during pack collection.
Race pack collection is at Bangor Aurora Aquatic & Leisure Complex, 3 Valentine Road. Pack collection takes place on the Friday evening before the race and on Saturday morning; the pack collection location is about a 10 minute walk from the start. Changing facilities including showers and toilets are available at the leisure centre, with additional public toilets near the start and in Castle Park.
Water stations are provided at Groomsport and at the finish. Post-race refreshments are available in the bowling pavilion adjacent to the finish. First aid is provided along the route and at the finish. Participants must be 15 years or over on race day. The wearing of in-ear headphones is not permitted.
