Sean Cooley Memorial 5k
The Sean Cooley Memorial 5k takes place on November 8, 2025, in Ocean Springs, MS. The event is held at 499 Front Beach Drive and includes multiple running events. Both the 1 Mile and 5k courses are USATF certified and eligible for state records (1 Mile: MS21001MS, 5k: MS20004MS). Proceeds benefit the Sean M. Cooley Citizen Soldier Nursing Scholarship Inc., a 501(c)(3). Adult prize money is offered in the 1 Mile: 1st place $75, 2nd place $50, 3rd place $25 for male and female divisions. Awards are given for the standard divisions in the 5k. T-shirts available while supplies last.

Registration and fees
General entry for the 5k and 1 Mile is listed at $22, with a GCRC member rate of $20 for the 5k and a late registration fee of $25 on race morning. The Kids 1 Mile entry is listed at $15; registration for that event closes November 6, 2025. Race day registration is available per club policy except where specifically excluded by other events.
