Scurry Swims Lochore 2026
Scurry Swims Lochore is the fourth edition of an open water swim festival held at Lochore Meadows Country Park on 6 June 2026. The programme uses the fresh water of Loch Ore and includes a range of swim distances and two Triathlon Scotland sanctioned aquathlons. Organisers have revised lap layouts for several events to create continuous lapped courses and improve water safety.
The event features full water safety cover to governing body standards, land safety and first aid teams, event chip timing, an event swim cap, a finishers medal and memento, bag drop and changing facilities. Pre race information and a race briefing will be emailed to competitors before the event.
Age minimums and examples of distances:
- 3800m Iron distance swim, open to those aged 18 and over, four laps
- 1900m Middle distance swim, open to those aged 17 and over, two laps
- 1500m Olympic distance swim, open to those aged 16 and over, two laps
- 750m Sprint distance swim, open to those aged 12 and over, one lap
- 250m Novice swim, open to those aged 8 and over, under 12s need a 1 to 1 adult
- Standard Aquathlon 1500m swim plus 10 km run
- Sprint Aquathlon 750m swim plus 5 km run
Wetsuit rules depend on water temperature. Temperatures between 14°C and 17.9°C require wetsuits, 18°C and above allow choice, and 20°C and above prohibit wetsuits. Juniors have compulsory wetsuit requirements and visible tow floats are required for some non wetsuit swimmers. The organiser may reschedule or cancel for extreme weather or water quality issues; limited refunds or transfers apply and the organiser is not responsible for travel or accommodation costs incurred.
