Event overview
The Scurry Around the Helix takes place at Helix Park, Falkirk on 25 April 2026. The event includes these distances:
- 10 km
- 1.5 km (listed as the 1 mile Fun Run)
The 10 km has a minimum age of 15 years on the day and limited entries. The 1.5 km fun run has no age restriction; adults must accompany young children. Adults may attend the fun run without signing up.
Course and facilities
The 10 km is mainly tarmac or hard-packed and relatively flat, with about 75 ft of total ascent and descent. The route starts in the Helix Park, passes the Kelpies, goes around the Cobblebrae community woodland and along the River Carron, and returns to the Helix Great Lawn. The fun run follows a clockwise circuit around the Helix Lawn and Helix Lagoon.
All 10 km runners receive a race medal and a memento; the 10 km is chip timed. Fun run participants receive a fun-run medal, a memento, and snacks; the fun run is not timed. Prizes are awarded for the 10 km only.
Logistics and safety
Main parking is at Forth Valley College car park, approximately a 15 minute walk to the start/finish area. Toilets are available by the Helix Cafe and start/finish area. Dogs are not permitted on the course. Run buggies are allowed in the 10 km but may be asked to start near the back; some short steps and narrow sections exist on the route.
