Scurry Around the Helix 10km and 1 mile Fun Run

The event on 24 April 2027 takes place at Helix Park, Falkirk. It comprises a main 10 km road and hard-packed route and a shorter fun run around the Helix Great Lawn and Lagoon.

The 10 km course is mainly tarmac or hard packed, relatively flat with about 75 ft of total ascent and descent. The route starts in Helix Park, passes the Kelpies, follows a circuit through Cobblebrae community woodland and skirts the River Carron before returning to the Helix Great Lawn. The 10 km has a minimum age of 15 years on race day and limited entries. The 10 km is chip timed. Finishers receive a race medal and a memento; refreshments and a snack bar are provided at the finish.

The fun run follows a clockwise circuit of the Helix Lawn and Helix Lagoon. It is listed as 1 mile (approximately 1.5 km), has no age restrictions, and adults must accompany young children; adults attending with young children do not need to register. The fun run is not timed; participants receive a fun run medal and snacks.

Safety measures include route signposting and marshals at key junctions, a first-aid team at start and finish areas, and a request that competitors confirm their safe return at the finish desk. Dogs are not permitted on the 10 km course. Run buggies are allowed in the 10 km with positioning and path-use restrictions.
