Scurry Around the Helix 10km and 1 mile Fun Run
The event on 24 April 2027 is staged at Helix Park, Falkirk, and offers two distances:
- 10 km: mainly tarmac or hard packed and relatively flat, with about 75 ft of ascent and descent; minimum age 15 on the day; limited entries.
- 1 mile fun run: starts and circuits the Helix Lawn and Helix Lagoon; no age restriction and adults must accompany young children.
The 10 km route starts in Helix Park, passes the Kelpies, loops through the Cobblebrae community woodland and runs alongside the River Carron before returning to the Helix Great Lawn. The 10 km will be chip timed. All 10 km finishers receive a race medal, a race memento, and refreshments at the finish; prize awards apply for top finishers and specified age categories. The fun run is not timed; young participants receive a fun run medal, a memento and snacks.
Safety arrangements include extensive signposting, marshals at key junctions, and a first aid team at start and finish areas. Dogs are not permitted for Canicross; run buggies are allowed in the 10 km with position and route restrictions, and pushchairs are permitted on the fun run. Competitors must confirm safe arrival at the finish desk.
Main event parking is at Forth Valley College car park; competitors are asked not to use the Kelpies or Helix car parks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
