Scurry Around the Helix 10km and 1 mile Fun Run : Helix Park, Falkirk
The event offers two distances:
- 10 km - mainly tarmac or hard-packed surface; relatively flat with about 75 ft total ascent and descent.
- 1 mile fun run - a clockwise circuit around the Helix Lawn and Helix Lagoon.
The 10 km route starts in Helix Park, passes the Kelpies, winds through the Cobblebrae community woodland, skirts the River Carron and returns to the Helix Great Lawn. The 10 km is chip timed; the fun run is not timed.
Entry and participant rules include a minimum age of 15 years for the 10 km, and limited entries for that distance. The fun run has no age restriction; adults must accompany young children, and adults are not required to register. Adults may accompany children on the course and should meet them at the finish if children run ahead.
Safety and event services: routes are signposted with marshals at key junctions, a first-aid team is available at start and finish areas, and a small bag tent may be provided for competitors’ kit. Run buggies are allowed in the 10 km with guidance on positioning; dogs and canicross are not permitted. The wearing of earphones is prohibited.
Prizes apply to the 10 km only with awards for top finishers and age category places. Parking is arranged at Forth Valley College with a short walk to the event area.
