Dechmont Law Trail Races, Dechmont Law Park, Livingston (14 June 2026)
Lothian Running Club presents a trail race festival at Dechmont Law Park in Livingston with three distances for different ages. The event includes the Dechmont 10k, which will incorporate the inaugural Scottish Athletics East District Trail Championships for eligible athletes who are current Scottish Athletics members and meet East District criteria.
The course runs through woodland with undulating, mostly firm paths and some short tarmac sections. The routes use a short loop and a long loop; the long loop passes the Alien Stone and North Wood. The route may be altered for forestry or maintenance and events cancelled for severe weather will be rescheduled. Dogs and pushchairs are not allowed.
Distances:
- 10k adult race combining short and long loops
- 6.5k adult race using the long loop past the Alien Stone
- 2.5k junior race following a loop around Dechmont Law
Safety and facilities are provided on course with marshals, a tail runner for each race, a water station and first aid at the start and finish. There is a 1 hour 45 minute cut off for the 10k. All races are chip timed by Keep it Simple Timing and every finisher receives a medal. Local parking is available on the non double yellow line side of Royston Road; the start area is about a 15 minute walk from there and from Livingston North station. Photography will be taken on course and shared after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
