The Scrap Iron 5K is a running event held on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina. The event offers two participation options: one including round-trip water taxi transport from Hilton Head Island and one without this transport.

Event Details
The race starts and finishes at 256 Cooper River Landing Road on Daufuskie Island. Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at the Hilton Head Running Company and on race day at the Old Daufuskie Crab Co. A post-race party with live music is held at the Old Daufuskie Crab Co. after the event.
Registration includes a custom race t-shirt for those who sign up before a specified date, a professionally timed race, and one free drink. For participants who select the water taxi option, transportation is provided by Island Head from Broad Creek Marina on Hilton Head Island to Freeport Marina on Daufuskie Island. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes each way.
