Scouting America Troop 597 Scout Fest
Scouting America Troop 597 holds a community Scout Fest on May 22, 2027 at Amity Community Park, 1967 Weavertown Rd, Douglassville, PA 19518. The event combines timed running and walking events with a family festival and fundraising for local Scout programs.
Distances:
- 5K Run - 3.1 miles
- 1.5 Mile Walk - 1.5 miles
The 5K course uses two figure-eight loops on the Amity Community Park Trail and includes hilly sections with downhill portions. Walkers follow a single figure-eight loop. The 5K will be timed by Bryan Mawr Racing Co. Water stations and course signage with stewards are provided.
Awards for the 5K include overall Top 3 Men and Top 3 Women, plus top male and female in these age groups: 18 & Under | 19–34 | 35–49 | 50+. Every participant receives a finisher medal; the official Scout Fest T-shirt is offered in adult sizes S–XXL.
Registration opens July 9, 2026 and closes April 21, 2027. Early registration before April 22 is listed at $35 and includes a guaranteed T-shirt and timing; late registration is $40 with T-shirt and timing not guaranteed.
Festival activities during the event include carnival games, bounce houses, a giant inflatable slide, and a bake sale. Funds raised support leadership development, summer camp experiences, gear and equipment, insurance, and year-round programming for Scouts.
