Scotty's South Townsville Run
Scotty's South Townsville Run is a club run hosted by Townsville Road Runners that takes place at the Townsville Recreational Boating Park, Fifth Avenue, South Townsville. The course runs along the Port of Townsville foreshore and passes marina areas with an early morning view of Castle Hill. The route is described as flat and is noted as preparation for the McDonald's Townsville Running Festival the following week.
Two course options are provided:
- 8.6 km long course starting and finishing at Townsville Recreational Boating Park.
- 4.8 km short course starting and finishing at Townsville Recreational Boating Park.
Both courses follow local streets and paths, including sections on Archer Street, Boundary Street Park, Hubert Street and parts of Lennon Drive near the cruise ship terminal and Ross Creek. The long course crosses the railway line and returns via Ross Street and Morehead Street. Participants are advised to bring insect repellant while waiting to start.
