Scottish National Standard Distance Triathlon Championships
The Triathlon Scotland National Standard Distance Triathlon Championships take place at Knockburn Loch near Banchory, AB31 6LL. Knockburn Loch is a man-made sports loch located below Kerloch Hill and is used for open water triathlon events. A cafe will be open on site. Dogs are not permitted to be walked on site; guide and assistance dogs are the exception.
Standard distances include:
- 1.5 km swim, 2 laps, wetsuits compulsory, 50 minute cut-off
- 42 km cycle, 3 laps on undulating country roads
- 10 km run, 2 laps on mixed trails and paths
The standard event is open to competitors in TriathlonScotland Junior 2/B category and older, with a minimum age of 17 on 31-Dec-26. A race license or race pass provides insurance cover; single-event race passes are available for those without annual membership. A race manual is provided by the organisers.
Organisers publish a refund and cancellation policy: refunds of 75% (minus processing fees) may be issued for withdrawals more than 28 days before the event; later refunds are conditional on a place being filled. The organisers reserve the right to modify race distances or format in line with governing body guidance. Volunteers are requested to assist with marshaling, registration and the finish area.
