Scottish National Standard Distance Triathlon Championships
The Triathlon Scotland National Standard Distance Triathlon Championships take place on Sunday 6 September 2026 at Knockburn Loch, a man-made site below Kerloch Hill near Banchory, AB31 6LL. The event is organised by Fleet Feet Events and uses the loch and surrounding countryside for open water triathlon racing.
Standard distances are:
- 1.5 km swim: 2 laps; wetsuits compulsory; 50 minute cut-off.
- 42 km cycle: 3 laps on undulating quiet country roads.
- 10 km run: 2 laps on mixed trails and paths.
The standard event is open to competitors who are Triathlon Scotland Junior 2/B category and older, with a minimum age of 17 years on 31 December 2026. Registration is listed as 8am - 9.15am. A race license or race pass is required; non‑members pay a race pass fee on the day or prior to racing. Entry fees listed include an individual entry of £79 until 30 August 2026 and a junior entry of £49 until 29 August 2026, with additional race pass charges for non‑members.
On-site facilities include a café offering light lunches, snacks and hot drinks. Dogs are not permitted to be walked on site except for guide or assistance dogs; a small car park to the left of the entrance is available for dog walking off-site.
The organiser provides a refund and cancellation policy, and requests volunteers to assist as marshals, at registration or at the finish line. Championship prizes are to be confirmed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
