Scottish National Standard Distance Triathlon Championships
The Triathlon Scotland National Standard Distance Triathlon Championships take place on Sunday 6 September 2026 at Knockburn Loch, a man made site below Kerloch Hill near Banchory AB31 6LL. The venue was developed for open water sport and is used for triathlon events.
Standard distances are:
- 1.5 km open water swim, 2 laps, wetsuits compulsory, 50 minute cut off
- 42 km cycle, 3 laps on undulating quiet country roads
- 10 km run, 2 laps on mixed trails and paths
Registration is scheduled between 8am and 9.15am. The standard event is open to competitors in Triathlon Scotland Junior 2 B category and older, with a minimum age of 17 on 31 December 2026.
A race license is required; competitors without a yearly license pay a higher entry fee which provides a race day license. It is possible to join Triathlon Scotland on the day.
On site there is a cafe serving light lunches, snacks, cakes and specialty tea and coffee. Dogs are not permitted to be walked on site and must remain in vehicles unless they are guide or special assistance dogs. A small car park is available to the left of the entrance for anyone who must accompany a dog.
Entry fees, race pass costs, volunteer opportunities, prize status and the organiser refund and cancellation policy are published by the organiser.
