Scone Palace Duathlons
The Scone Palace Duathlons take place on the historic grounds of the Scone Palace estate in Perth, Scotland. This multisport event features a combination of running and cycling across two different distance options. Participants compete on various terrains, with the running segments held on firm trail paths within the palace grounds and the cycling segments conducted on open country roads in the surrounding area.
The event offers two primary multisport distances:
- Sprint Duathlon: A 5 km run, followed by a 19 km cycle, finishing with a 2.5 km run.
- Standard Duathlon: A 10 km run, followed by a 38 km cycle, finishing with a 5 km run.
The cycle portion of the Standard Duathlon consists of two laps of the designated route. All participants are monitored via live chip timing to ensure accurate result tracking. A secure transition area is provided for competitors, where race and bike numbers must correspond to specific racking spots. Safety regulations require bike numbers to be attached and helmets to be visible before entering the transition zone.
Finishers receive an event medal, various merchandise, and a snack and drink upon completion. On-site parking is available for a fee, and the event is open to participants aged 17 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
