Event Overview
The Scholars Run takes place in Maryville, Tennessee. It is the second event in the 2026 Healthy Blount Triple Crown of Running series. The primary in-person events are a timed 5K run and a 1 Mile fun run/walk, both held at the Maryville College Campus, starting at the Cooper Athletic Center.
Courses
The 5K course uses city streets around the area and the Maryville College campus. It is a USATF-certified course (certification #TN18042MS). The 1 Mile fun run/walk is contained entirely on the Maryville College campus grounds.
Participation and Awards
Participants in the Triple Crown series are eligible for cash awards, door prizes, and a special memento for completing all three 5K events. Door prizes are also available for those who participate in the Reindeer Run and at least one other series event. Awards for the 5K are given to the top three finishers in each age group, as well as to the top overall and Masters (40+) male and female winners. All fun run/walk participants receive a participation gift.
Additional Details
All registered participants receive a short-sleeved unisex t-shirt, with size guaranteed for pre-registrants. Post-race refreshments are provided. A portion of the event's proceeds benefits the Community Food Connection of Blount County. A virtual 5K run-anywhere option is also available from July 18 to July 26, though virtual participants are not eligible for awards.
Event Logistics
Check-in for the in-person event occurs on race day. There is also a pre-race package pickup and registration opportunity on the Thursday before the event at a local sporting goods store.
