Scholar Sprint
The Scholar Sprint is a set of road races held at Argos Community Park in Argos, Indiana. The event is sponsored by Argos Dollars for Scholars, a not-for-profit organization that raises funds to support scholarships for graduating Argos seniors.
The event includes these distances and formats:
- One Mile Fun Run paved path winding through Argos Community Park
- 5K flat out-and-back course through the Town of Argos
- 10K flat course through Argos and Marshall County countryside
- 5K Fireman’s Challenge firefighters compete in full gear with a traveling trophy
Awards and participant items are specified by the organizer. First and second place medals are awarded for male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K. The Fun Run offers participant medals only. Age group medals are specified for ranges from 20-25 through 76-80. T-shirts are available to runners who register before the organizer deadline; shirts are not guaranteed after that deadline.
Course support includes volunteers, mile markers, water stations on course and water at the race pavilion. Drinks, snacks and an awards ceremony follow the event. Parking is available within Argos Community Park; the organizer requests use of the south park entrance from State Road 10.
Participants run at their own risk and should follow health guidance. Those who feel ill or who have been exposed to illness are asked not to attend, and participants with health concerns should consult a physician prior to the event.
