The Scholar Sprint is a set of running events held at Argos Community Park, 560 W Walnut Street, Argos, IN 46501. The event program includes the following distances and entry fees:
- One Mile Fun Run : $10
- 5K : $25
- 10K : $25
- 5K Fireman’s Challenge : $25
The races are sponsored by Argos Dollars for Scholars. Proceeds support scholarships for graduating Argos seniors. Argos Dollars for Scholars is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization and contributions are tax deductible. The Fun Run awards participation medals only and does not include T-shirts.
Course, awards and facilities
The One Mile Fun Run uses a paved path inside Argos Community Park. The 5K is an out-and-back route through the Town of Argos on a flat course. The 10K is described as a flat course through town and Marshall County countryside. The 5K Fireman’s Challenge participants run in full fireman gear, including oxygen tanks; a traveling trophy is awarded to the first-place fireman and challenge participants may receive medals based on finish.
Race-day amenities include water on course and at the pavilion, drinks and snacks after the event, volunteers and mile markers along routes, and parking inside the park via the south entrance from State Road 10. Age-group medals are awarded across multiple adult age ranges. Participants run at their own risk and are asked to follow health guidance if ill.
