Scholar Sprint
The Scholar Sprint is a set of running events held at Argos Community Park in Argos, Indiana, with the course start and finish at the park located at 560 W Walnut Street. The event supports Argos Dollars for Scholars, a local nonprofit that raises funds for scholarships for graduating Argos seniors.
Race options include:
- One Mile Fun Run (1 mile)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K Fireman's Challenge (5K)
Course notes: the One Mile Fun Run follows a paved path through Argos Community Park. The 5K and 10K courses are described as flat and fast, traveling through the town of Argos and the Marshall County countryside. Water stations are provided along the 5K and 10K routes and at the race pavilion. Volunteers and mile markers will be placed along the routes.
Awards and extras: first and second place medals for male and female 5K and 10K finishers, participant medals for the Fun Run, and a traveling trophy plus possible medals for the first-place finisher in the 5K Fireman's Challenge. Fireman challenge participants compete in full gear, including oxygen tanks. Age group medals cover ranges from 20-25 up to 76-80. T-shirts are offered to registrants who meet the organizer deadline; shirts are not guaranteed after that deadline.
Safety: participants run at their own risk and are asked to follow health and social distancing guidance. Those feeling ill or recently exposed to illness are asked not to attend. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
