Event Overview
The Scholar Sprint offers four running events on a single day: a One Mile Fun Run, a standard 5K, a 10K, and a unique 5K Fireman’s Challenge. All events start and finish at Argos Community Park in Argos, Indiana.
Course Details
The Fun Run uses a paved path within Argos Community Park. The 5K course is described as flat and fast, traveling an out-and-back loop through the Town of Argos. The 10K course is also described as flat and fast, winding through the Town of Argos and into the countryside of Marshall County. Water stations are available along the 5K and 10K routes, and general water will be available at the race pavilion.
Registration and Amenities
Registration prices are $10 for the One Mile Fun Run and $25 for the 5K, 10K, and 5K Fireman’s Challenge. Prices increase after a specified deadline. Participants who register by a certain date receive a race t-shirt, though shirts and sizes are not guaranteed for late registrants. Race day registration and packet pick-up are available.
Awards
Awards are presented in several categories. First and second place medals are awarded to male and female participants in the 5K and 10K. Age group medals cover categories from 20-25 up to 76-80. All Fun Run participants receive a participation medal. The 5K Fireman’s Challenge awards a traveling trophy to the first-place fireman, with participants competing in full firefighter gear, including oxygen tanks.
Event Purpose
The event is organized to support Argos Dollars for Scholars, a nonprofit volunteer organization that raises funds for scholarships for graduating Argos seniors pursuing secondary education or trade skills. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
