Scary Run - Washougal, WA, October 24, 2026
Scary Run is a costume-themed run and walk held in Washougal, Washington. The event uses a single-loop 5K course at Captain William Clark Park; participants may complete one, two, or three laps to cover different distances. The route passes through the Spooky Forest on every lap and includes a cheer zone at the race venue with music, décor, and space for spectators.

- 15K (three laps)
The event includes family-oriented features: children 12 and under may register free with limited entries and ages 13 to 17 receive a 50 percent discount. Packet pickup is available at a local running store and at the race venue; events are sanctioned by USATF and packet pickup procedures require proper identification or a signed authorization if someone else collects a packet. A bag check is provided and porta-potties will be at the start and finish; there is a restroom opportunity about one mile into the course at Cottonwood Park.
Post-event offerings include festive food and drinks, free snacks and root beer at the finish, music, free race photos, and Halloween surprises. Awards are given to top overall and age group finishers; walkers are not eligible for awards. The event benefits local schools, sports clubs, and nonprofits.
