Scaredy Cat K95K : event overview
The Scaredy Cat K95K is a pet friendly 5K walk and run held at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton, MA. The event includes an in-person race and a virtual 5K option that can be completed during the month of October. Proceeds support the animal welfare programs of MVMA Charities and the Travis Fund.
Participants can expect a health and fitness fair with music, vendors, and dog demonstrations. Prizes are awarded for fastest individual participants and for dog-and-owner pairs. All registered participants receive a race day t-shirt; dog bandanas are available for purchase.
Dog participation rules and requirements Dogs are welcome but must follow event rules. Key requirements include proof of current rabies vaccination at check-in and maintaining control of dogs at all times. Specific rules state:
- No more than two dogs per runner or walker.
- Leashes must be no longer than six feet; retractable leashes are not allowed.
- Dog waste must be picked up and disposed of at designated locations or risk disqualification.
- Dogs should be trained for a race environment and kept hydrated.
