Scarecrow Shuffle 5K - Carlisle
The Scarecrow Shuffle 5K takes place in downtown Carlisle, Kentucky on September 26, 2026. The event is organized by the Paris-Bourbon County YMCA, the Nicholas County YMCA, and the Nicholas County Chamber of Commerce and benefits the Nicholas County Chamber of Commerce.
Distance options and formats:
- 5K in-person run/walk on paved roads, chip timed
- 5K virtual run/walk from any location; commemorative T-shirt included
- Kids race for ages 12 and under; free entry
Registration opens June 12, 2026 and closes September 26, 2026. Entry fees listed by the organizer are $30 for the in-person 5K, $25 for the virtual 5K, and free for the kids race. A discount code Scare26 reduces the fee by $5 for registrations completed through August 15, 2026. In-person 5K participants who register by August 31, 2026 receive a commemorative race T-shirt.
The in-person 5K is held on paved roads and is chip timed. Awards will be presented to overall top male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Proceeds from the event support the Chamber, which works to strengthen the local economy, promote tourism, encourage economic development, and enhance quality of life in Nicholas County.
