Scarecrow Fun Run
The Scarecrow Fun Run is a harvest themed family fitness event organized by Nibley City at Heritage Park, 2456 S 800 W, Nibley, UT 84321. It offers a range of timed and untimed runs, kid-focused distances, and a new two-person 10K relay with an exchange point at a gravel parking lot on 640 West 3700 South.
Distance options include:
- Free 100 yard dash for children 4 and under
- 1/4 mile for children 8 and under
- 1/2 mile for children 12 and under
- 1 mile run/walk for all ages
- 5K with professional timing and finish-line results
- 10K with professional timing and finish-line results
- 10K relay for two person teams
Registration has an early bird period ending September 2 and a regular period ending September 17; day of registration is available both online and in person. Packet pick up and day of registration occur at Heritage Park. The 5K and 10K run concurrently with the 1 mile run, so participants cannot run both the mile and the 5K or 10K.
Route details note a well marked, relatively flat course and occasional scarecrow actors placed along the route to startle runners. Event features include tech shirts, age division prizes, creative category prizes such as Funnest Pair and Stroller Racer, a separate adaptive roll division with ADA accessible routes, and a no dogs policy for these runs.
