Road Races in Junction City
The Scandia Run takes place in Junction City, Oregon, with a course layout that leads participants through the outskirts of the city and into the Willamette Valley farmlands. The event features multiple distances and categories on paved roads.
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 10K USATF certified road race
- 5K USATF certified road race
- 4-Mile walk
- 400m Kids "Run with the Vikings"
The 5K and 10K routes are recognized as USATF certified courses, characterized by a flat and fast profile. The 4-Mile walk is available for those who prefer a non-competitive pace through the local countryside. For children, the event includes a 400m dash where young runners participate alongside individuals dressed as Vikings.
The event is held in conjunction with the local Scandinavian Festival. All race routes start at the intersection of 6th Street and Deal Street. The courses provide views of the surrounding agricultural landscape of the Willamette Valley during the month of August. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
