Scandia Run
The Scandia Run is an annual community road race managed by Valley South Athletic Club. The 2026 event is scheduled for August 15, 2026, and features races that run from the outskirts of Junction City into Willamette Valley farmland.
Race options include:
- 5K USATF certified course
- 10K USATF certified course
- 4-Mile Walk
- 400m kids "Run with the Vikings"
The event began in 1975, created by the Junction City High School cross country team in cooperation with the Junction City Parks and Recreation Department. It remains organized locally by Valley South Athletic Club.
Registration can be completed online or by mailing printed forms. Print forms mailed to the Valley South Athletic Club PO Box must be received by 08/10/2026; forms may also be dropped off at Eugene Running Company. Race shirts are available for purchase during registration for $20. Youth shirts are included with the kids "Run with the Vikings" registration.
Results and race photos are collected and published after the event. The race takes place on the same weekend as the Junction City Scandinavian Festival. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
